Who we are
This website is operated by OR Steels (“OR Steels”, “we”), a steel supplier based in Karachi, Pakistan. Our contact details are on the contact page.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into our forms or send us directly:
- Quote requests: your name, phone / WhatsApp number, email and company (optional), the product, quantity, sizes, grades and delivery location you describe, and whether you asked for a mill test certificate.
- Contact messages: your name, phone number, email and company (optional) and your message.
- Technical data: when a form is submitted we record the time and the network address the request came from, which we use only to block automated spam and abuse.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment card details, identity documents or passwords through this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your request with a quote, availability, certificates or an answer to your question.
- To arrange processing and delivery of an order you place with us.
- To keep a record of inquiries so we can follow up on open quotes.
We do not sell or rent your details, and we do not add you to marketing lists. We contact you only about your inquiry or order.
Where it is stored and who can see it
Form submissions are stored in a hosted database (Neon, a PostgreSQL service) and shown in a password-protected dashboard that only our sales team can access. The website itself is hosted on Vercel. These providers process the data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Inquiry records are kept for up to 24 months from the date of your last contact with us, then deleted. Records relating to an order are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules in Pakistan require.
Cookies, analytics and third parties
- No tracking cookies. The site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The admin dashboard uses one login cookie that is only set for our own staff.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which measure page views and performance without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
- Maps. The map on the contact page loads from Google only after you click “Load map”; Google’s own privacy policy applies from that point.
- WhatsApp, phone and email links open your own apps; what you send through them is governed by those services.
- Images on this site are served from Unsplash’s image CDN, which receives a standard web request (including your network address) when a page loads.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the details we hold about you, correct them, or delete them. Email sales@orsteels.pk or message us on WhatsApp and we will action it promptly. Deleting your details may mean we can no longer follow up on an open quote.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about this policy can be sent to sales@orsteels.pk. See also our terms of supply.
